Wednesday's Update - Chris & Trey

Editor's note - many apologies for the delay in getting this update posted- I attempted to upload it Wednesday night but the internet in the DR didn't cooperate - resigning myself to wait until I got back into the states, I returned to Dallas Thursday evening only to discover that the internet was down at the place we stayed Thursday night. It was my own little flashback to the DR. So finally I am back in Oklahoma (with internet), and here is Wednesday's post. ~David Prentice

We first woke up ready for another exciting day of faith, fun, and baseball in the Dominican Republic. We had a quick breakfast, and left for the S.C.O.R.E Highland complex. After many close driving encounters, we arrived around 9:00 A.M and walked into a very important day for many people there. It was the Dominican tryout for the Giants. Around 15 peoples lives could change after 3 hours, including a possible $1.000.000 singing deal. After watching them for about an hour, we got ready for our game. The game was full of good hitting, great pitching, and a few questionable umpire calls. Afterward the game we won 6-1, we ate lunch and shared our faith with the other team by swimming, playing basketball, and even a baseball game with a manner pleasing to God. We arrived at the S.C.O.R.E complex soon after, and ate dinner. We then went to the beach for some video shooting and chillaxing (relax – chilling). We got back and left for a Dominican baseball game, which was a load of fun. I am typing this in the car ride home from the game. I know I am missed at home, but am having a blast here setting an example for Christ.    ~Chris~

Trey

This morning I was woken up by someone yelling breakfast so I went down, then got ready for the day. We went to the highlands complex to watch the Dominican giants then they had tryouts for some Dominican kids. You could see the love they had for the game! This game is like a god to them; they never had anything like this. It is amazing to me these kid no older than me “18” are signing with pro teams, and if they don’t, to be honest, they feel like their life is a waste and that they have nothing. They make a lot out of a little here. It truly is a eye opener to me, as I see that we have it made back home.

But any how we played our game and won 6-1. After the game we had lunch and got to swim with the other team at the S.C.O.R.E. complex. It was great! We may not have known how to talk in Spanish with them but we all knew baseball and that was all we needed to know with these kids. We had a blast! We headed back to the S.C.O.R.E. complex, went to the beach to some video testimonies/interviews, got back and had dinner, and then it was off to a true Dominican baseball game - it was CRAZY!! It was loud, and there were many people. The fans here in the D.R are in love with baseball. Every seat was full, and there were even people in trees out side the gates watching the game.

P.S Dave is a “gringo” just because he doesn’t read this before he puts it in the blog but anyhow we had to leave befor the game was over so that’s my view on what we did today. Bye yall!

[P.S.S. Thanks Trey - Sincerely, "Gringo"]
